The chief pathologist of this institute, Dr. Chiranjib Mukherjee, completed his schooling at Narendrapur Ramkrishna Mission. He graduated with an MBBS from Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital, known as NRS Medical College, Kolkata. He completed his house job at the same college and SSKM Hospital. Additionally, he obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DGO) from R G Kar Medical College. Dr. Mukherjee then pursued further education at the prestigious Manipal Academy of Higher Education, the first university in India to be recognized by the British Medical Council. After completing his MD in Pathology, he returned to West Bengal to serve the community. Dr. Mukherjee is known for his expertise in various areas of pathology, including Cytopathology, Histopathology, and Hematology. His proficiency in gynecological surgery has enabled him to specialize in intervention Pathology. He can perform peritoneal and pleural aspiration, skin biopsies, CT-guided lung and intra-abdominal procedures, synovial aspiration, and cervical biopsies with his surgical skills. Dr. Mukherjee is highly regarded in Purulia, Bankura, and Midnapore’s adjoining districts and in the neighboring state of Jharkhand. Dr. Mukherjee remains dedicated to staying updated on the evolving science of Pathology and regularly attends international CMEs nationwide.
